About Me

I have been working on this ongoing pastel drawing series for over 30 years. I live in New London, Connecticut, and my work can be found in private collections in the San Francisco Bay Area in California and the Boston area in Massachusetts.

Statement

I use the oval and circle as evocative symbols, able to mirror the world at the microcosmic and macroscopic levels. The form may appear as a planet, a threshold, a passage, a seed or a cell.

I think of the drawings as snapshots or frozen moments that reveal a process in motion caught at a particular time. The images offer glimpses of the evolving patterns that surround us.

Since the series is contemplative in nature, I hope the drawings convey something of that state to the viewer — a sense of the stillness and spaciousness that exists both inside and outside of us. I hope each drawing offers a moment to meditate on the vastness of which we are all a part.
